Expectations Create Reputations

Writer's picture: Jonathan M BernardJonathan M Bernard

Your own ideas and judgements about people or things predetermine your experience you have with them and they end up ruining the true or real version not just for you but for everyone else. People are naive and love to believe things so much to the point that they would rather make things up. These are expectations that create reputations. When you expect something like a stereotype or specific outcome you don’t actually observe or let something exist with its intention. When you are expecting something from someone you should let them know so you don’t waste their time trying to prove something to you when you don’t care. Try having a clean slate or know what you want before you expect something from someone. This effects listening to music, watching movies or looking at any process when you are expecting something when it could be completely different. That is how we can get passed the typical stereotypes, habits and behaviors. It’s one thing being fed up and never seeing anything different than it is expecting it when it isn’t apparent or happening in front of your eyes. It ruins the whole enjoyment of the experience.
